Xiangshu Treasures: Three Jinshi at a glance

Yang Baixi from Linzhou, from official to Zhongcheng, is proficient in Xiangshu. In the reign of Qianlong Jiachen (1784), he was admitted to Jinshi. The day before the ranking was announced, the new recruits gathered outside Qianqingmen and waited anxiously. Yang Baixi looked at the new year carefully, and said to his friends: "The second place and third place in Jinke should be the second South and North Shao (referring to Shao Ying from Yuyao and Shao Yuqing from Tianjin), but I am the first prize winner. Why can't I see it? That's weird?" Just after speaking, I suddenly saw a man sitting alone next to a gold cylinder, playing with a hat with his head down. He walked over and congratulated him: "The new champion was hiding here!" Asking the name of the person, it was Rucha from Kuaiji, with ancient fragrance. Soon, the top ten in the palace passed on to the Shang Dynasty, and they accounted for the names in order, and it was exactly in line with his prediction.

After Yang Baixi reported to the court, he immediately took leave and returned home. He predicted that his official career for ten years would be poor, so he was not eager to become an official and lived in seclusion at home. Ten years later, he went out to ask for an official and became a doctor; soon he was promoted to a Taoist, and his career went smoothly, and he continued to hold important posts in the government.

When Yang Baixi was admitted to the Jinshi in the Jiachen year, he came from the sect of Ji Wenda Gong (ie Ji Xiaolan). He once said to Wen Dagong: "The later the teacher enters the cabinet, the better." At the age of 82, Wen Dagong was worshipped as a co-sponsored bachelor. After only 17 days, he died.

Xu Naipu, a native of Qiantang, had posthumous posthumous title Wenkegong. When he was young, he visited Yang Baixi and asked about his future. He replied, "You will be the first-rank prime minister of the imperial court." Wen Kegong was worried that he would not live for many years. Yang Baixi said, "Your bones are old and you are the sign of longevity." Later, Wen Ke was an official. Zhilibu Shangshu and Prince Taibao, is a high-ranking palace under one person and above ten thousand people.
