What are the schools of ancient Fengshui

Chinese Fengshui has a long history. In the long-term development process, due to differences in understanding, many schools have gradually formed, such as Eight House Fengshui, Feixing Fengshui, Jinsuoyuguan, Crossing Yinyang Fengshui, and Eight Character Fengshui. These feng shui factions have their own different characteristics in theory, terminology, and operation. Some emphasize the environment, and some emphasize ease of reason.

Generally speaking, Chinese Fengshui can be divided into two major factions, namely the situation school and the liqi school. There are many small schools under each of the two factions. The situation school pays attention to finding the dragon, checking sand, watching water, acupuncture points, orientation, etc. to distinguish the direction; the Li Qi school pays attention to the theory of mutual generation and mutual restraint such as Yin and Yang, the five elements, the stems and branches, and the Eight Diagrams and Nine Palaces.

However, the two factions must follow three principles: 1. The principle of harmony between heaven, earth and man; 2. The principle of yin and yang balance; 3. The principle of the five elements generating restraint.
