I often hear people complaining "; I had a night of dreams, and I didn’t rest for the whole night";, "; I had many dreams at night, and I didn’t fall asleep.";. So is it really a dream that delayed the rest? Is dreaming a sign that the brain has never rested or is not well rested?

This concept is wrong. Dreaming and being able to recall dreams is not an indicator of a lack of sleep, nor can it be said that dreaming means not sleeping well.
In fact, dreaming is a physiological phenomenon, no matter whether you have dream memories or not, you are determined to have 4 to 5 dreams every night.
Therefore, it is unrealistic to say that dreaming or not dreaming all night, nor can it be said that there are more dreams and fewer dreams.
Studies have shown that there is no inevitable connection between the sense of dreams and the degree of insomnia. In other words, the presence or absence of dream sense and the degree of dream sense cannot be used as an objective indicator of insomnia and the degree of insomnia.
So, why are there the previous complaints? Through investigation and analysis, some scholars believe that it is related to the following factors:
  (1) Little is known about sleep knowledge and the relationship between sleep and dream perception.
  (2) It is related to the emotional state of the person.
  (3) Too much care for one's own health and too much attention to dream sense, leading to enhanced dream sense. In turn, the worry about health and the fear of insomnia are aggravated, and a vicious circle is formed.
  (4) During REM sleep and later awakening, it is more likely to recall the content of the dream.
  (5) Differences in individual functional status. Different individuals have different dream perceptions. Even the same individual has different dream perceptions in different periods and different functional states. Therefore, some people feel that they have more dreams for a period of time, but for another period of time. Dream less.
In addition, although some people do not have obvious insomnia, they feel weak during the day after dreaming at night. In fact, this is caused by a psychological factor. Dreamers always associate the content of their dreams with things that are unpleasant in their own mood, which increases the burden on their thoughts and suppresses their emotions, resulting in various uncomfortable phenomena.
Dreaming itself has certain benefits for people and sleep. Unless you have night terrors and can't sleep peacefully, and you have obvious sleepiness during the day, which affects your normal work and life, you should consult a doctor to find the cause and treat it.
